As the summer winds down, we are just getting started at Champaign Park District! Looking for a way to spend a few more hours outside? Wanting to give back at the same time? The Taste of Champaign-Urbana is just around the corner!
Check out all the ways you can volunteer and be first in line of all the action at Taste of CU!
All Taste of Champaign-Urbana volunteers get a free t-shirt, snacks and drinks during their shift, and 2 FREE SHEETS of TASTE TICKETS for ever shift volunteered! So come on out, volunteer for a couple of hours and earn those tickets to spend on FOOD, DRINKS, GAMES, and more!!
Interested in volunteering but don’t know how? It’s EASY!
1. Ticket Sales!
What would Taste be without our Taste Tickets!? Everything at Taste of Champaign-Urbana is purchased with Taste Tickets. Keep up with all the action by helping trade in dollar bills for tickets at our Ticket Tent.
2. Be a vendor entrance safety monitor!
We want to ensure a fun and safe atmosphere for our festival goers. Help us make sure that key loading areas are free from attendees and that our vendors can freely set up to showcase their craft.
3. Pour Beer!
Always wanted to try your hand at bartending? Here’s your chance! Sign up for our beer tent for the opportunity to serve up either some domestic classics or some local craft beer favorites.
- TIPS Trained last year? You’re GOOD TO GO!
- Need a TIPS certification? Fear NOT! The Champaign Park District is providing FREE TIPS training in exchange for your volunteer service at our Beer Tent! We want to make sure that all of our beer tent volunteers know the basics of serving alcohol to ensure everyone has a good time at Taste.
- Last chance to sign up is August 2, at 5:30-9:30pm
- 4 hours of training for 3 years of certification!
4. Sell merchandise!
This year we’re going to light up the night! We’re selling light up
bracelets, glasses, light sabers and more. Cruise around the park with our merchandise cart and be right in the middle of all the action.
5. Vendor/Volunteer Check-In!
Taste of Champaign-Urbana is nothing without our amazing volunteers and local vendors! Help us keep all our volunteers organized by checking them in and showing them to their assigned posts!
6. Pie Run
Taste of Champaign-Urbana wouldn’t be complete without our annual Pie Run! Take a break from the festival and help us out with registration, safety, and of course—throwing pies! Sign up to volunteer HERE!
