Required Wellness Check
Every participant will be asked the following questions when before entering a facility or program:
- Y or N: Have you felt feverish?
- Y or N: Do you have a cough?
- Y or N: Do you have a sore throat?
- Y or N: Have you been experiencing difficulty breathing or a shortness of breath?
- Y or N: Do you have muscle aches?
- Y or N: Have you had a new or unusual headache (e.g., not related to caffeine, diet, or hunger, not related to history of migraines, clusters, or tension, not typical to the individual)?
- Y or N: Have you noticed a new loss of taste or loss of smell?
- Y or N: Have you been experiencing chills or rigors (rigors: a sudden feeling of cold with shivering accompanied by a rise in temperature)?
- Y or N: Do you have any gastrointestinal concerns (e.g., abdominal, pain, vomiting, diarrhea)?
- Y or N: Is anyone in your household displaying any symptoms of COVID-19?
- Y or N: To the best of your knowledge, have you or anyone in your household come into close contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 (close contacts include household contacts, intimate contacts, or contacts within 6-ft for 15 minutes or longer (10 minutes or longer for ambulatory care services) unless wearing N95 mask during period of contact).
COVID-19 Symptons
If you are exhibiting any of the following symptoms, please stay home to play another day:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
2. Ceramics Studio >>
Requirements
- 6 feet social distancing in pottery studio
- Masks required
- Online registration only or by phone, no in person registration
- No waiting areas for parents of patrons building open to the patrons only
- An individual set of pottery tools and towels will be provided to each patron and properly cleaned/disinfected after patrons use
- Clay will be distributed by the instructor
- Glazes will be disinfected in between use
- All pottery equipment, wheels, tables, chairs and sinks will be disinfected after use by the instructor
- If elevator needs to be used, 1 person at a time otherwise the stairway should be used
- One person may use the lower level restrooms at a time, sink handles etc. will be disinfected after use
- Hand railings, door handles etc. will be disinfected before, once in the building, and after the patrons leave the building
- Wheels may be moved to maintain social distancing
- 1 staff 5 participants to maintain social distancing

5. Cultural Arts Special Interest Groups >>
Requirements
- Instructions from a 6 feet distance
- Art Supplies will be housed at Springer
- No individual help on the art work, must be modeled from 6 feet distance
- Patrons only allowed, no waiting areas for other individuals
- Reusable water bottles will be allowed
- Water fountains will be shut off
- Patrons/Staff will not interact with each other, other than 6 feet in the building
- Facility Staff will disinfect doorknobs, hand rails, toilet handles, sink handles etc. (highly touched areas) every 2 hours
- The room will have their own disinfectant cleaner and hand sanitizer
- Sanitizing will take place in between groups going in and out of the building or using different rooms for special classes
- Will do a health check upon arrival before entering the building
- A separate space will be provided for a patron who becomes ill
- No Peanut Butter or Nut Products Allowed
Customer Behaviors
- Enrollment will happen online or over the phone.
- Participant parents or guardians will be asked screening questions every day at drop off.
- Participants will be isolated if the exhibit COVID-like symptoms. If they have COVID, the will be required to isolate for a minimum of 10 days after symptom onset and can be released after feverless and have 2 COVID-19 test in a row that are negative.
- Staff will keep attendance/sign in
- No traveling will occur during summer.
- Participants/staff will wear masks.
- Participants will sanitize their hands after each activity.
Illness
- Staff or patrons will go to room 110 Monday – Wednesdays and room 109 Thursdays thru Saturdays until picked up
- Parents and Staff Temperatures of 100.4 or higher will need to be fever free for 72 hours without medication, 10 days passed since symptoms appeared, and a doctor’s note. Please monitor your or your child’s temperature before arriving to Guitar and drum lessons.

6. Dance Arts Conservatory >>
Dance Staff
- Will not be allowed to work sick
- Will quarantine for 14 days if they have been exposed to someone with COVID – 19
- Will have COVID 19 training
- Will have a symptom check list and go over it twice daily upon arrival and mid-day if applicable
- Will wear masks
- Instructors will be assigned to the same Dance Class
Illness
- Staff or children will go to room 110 until picked up
- Temperatures 100.4 or higher will need to be fever free for 72 hours without medication, 10 days passed since symptoms appeared, and a doctor’s note
Drop off/Pick up
- Drop off will be drive up.
- No parents, friends, spouses etc. may enter the building
- Normal drop off pick up enter from Church exit at Hill street (designated spaces for drop off waiting). Exception: Move with Me class [parent is registered with the child for this class], Creative Movement and Ballet 101, the parent may bring their child to the instructor at the door.) For all other classes, the instructor will be at the front door to sign each student in and will take them to the classroom. 6 feet markings are on the front porch for students to stand the appropriate distance apart from each other until all students arrive for class.
- No waiting areas will be provided in the facility
- No back backs /water bottles only
- Staff and Patrons will be required to come to class in dance clothing/no changing in the facility
- Water fountains will be shut off
- Classes will not interact with each other
- Facility Staff will disinfect main lobby/hallway doorknobs, hand rails, toilet handles, sink handles etc. (highly touched areas) every 2 hours
- Each group/room will have their own disinfectant cleaner and hand sanitizer
- Sanitizing will take place in between classes going in and out of the classrooms, ballet bars etc.
- Staff and patrons will do a health check upon arrival before entering the facility
- A separate space will be provided for a staff/patron who becomes ill, room 110
- Mask required
- 6 feet social distancing required
- X’s will be put on the floors and on the ballet barres to ensure social distancing
- Staff will not be allowed to help a person position correctly when requested by the patron, it will be modeled with a 6 feet distance
- Staff and Patrons/Travel out of state will be monitored and a waiting period determined to return by Safety Manager or HR
*All dance staff and dance participants will be required to follow guidelines or will be dismissed from the program
7. Douglass & Hessel Park Splash Pads >>
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Practice social distancing.
- Wash or sanitize your hands before and after use.
- Encouraged to wear a face covering when within 6 feet of others.
- Splash pad surfaces are not sanitized and users play at their own risk.
- Patrons are to adhere by the Champaign Public Health Department’s guidelines when it comes to outdoor playground capacity limits.
8. Guitar & Drum Lessons >>

- Drums/sticks are provided and will be sanitized
- No personal drum pads allowed
- Guitars must be sanitized prior to entering the building
- Lessons will be instructed from a 6 feet distance
- No individual help on the instrument, must be modeled from 6 feet distance

10. Sports & Field Rentals-NO SPECTATORS INSIDE FACILITY AT THIS TIME >>
Adult Softball
NO SPECTATORS AT THIS TIME.
- Virtual Captains Meeting on August 5th @ 6:00 PM to discuss safety precautions, rule changes, schedules etc.
- Hand Sanitizing station available at entrance & bathrooms
- Bathrooms closed for cleaning every 2 hours
- Dugouts will be cleaned before the start of every game
- Staggered start times on fields to minimize contact between teams
- Fields 7 & 5 will have start times of (6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00)
- Fields 4 & 6 will have start times of (6:30, 7:30, 8:30)
- Teams will not be allowed to warm up inside the complex
- Instead teams are encouraged to warm up in the grassy areas outside
- No drinking fountains or concessions will be available during games
- Players must wear a mask if on the sidelines or unable to maintain 6ft distancing (Do not have to wear when actively playing)
- Safety bases will be provided at home plate to limit contact between teams
- Balls will be exchanged & sanitized in-between every game
Ball Field Rentals - Games
NO SPECTATORS AT THIS TIME.
- Site Supervisor on site for every game to ensure safety precautions are being followed & common touch points are being cleaned
- Coaches must turn in team rosters with contact information to Site Supervisor’s prior to the start of games
- Teams should be vigilant in preventing the spread of the virus by practicing good hygiene, as recommended by the IDPH and CDC
- Coaches should ensure no one participates if they are experiencing any symptoms or exposure risks, per IDPH and CDC
- Face coverings should be worn at all times when 6’ of social distancing cannot be maintained-unless on the field during a game
- Group sizes should be limited to 50 participants or fewer, and 30-ft of distancing must be maintained between groups
- Coaches and participants are encouraged to follow all CDC recommended guidelines and wash hands before arrival and to bring and use their own hand sanitizer
- Minimize sharing of high-touch equipment between non-household individuals when possible
- Sanitize shared equipment with commercially premixed disinfectants prior to practice/games and during use (e.g., between drills/innings) and encourage frequent hand sanitizing
- Place personal items 6’ from other player’s items to avoid any contact
- We encourage staggered activity start and end times to minimize contact between teams or groups
- No team/group meetings and no “high fives”, fist bumps, or handshakes
- Suspend any form of group snacks (no seeds, no gum chewing, no spitting)
- No drinking fountains available (encourage water to be supplied by individual participant)
- Encourage participants to take trash out of the park with them
- Please discourage participants and families from congregating before, during, and after practice
- Review COVID-19 Symptoms (listed below) and complete a wellness screening with all participants attending practice or games (see example below)
Micro-Soccer/Youth Soccer Clinic/Hitting & Defensive Softball Clinic
NO SPECTATORS AT THIS TIME.
- Health Screening questions asked by instructor prior to check-in at practice or games
- Hand sanitizing station for every team: all players must sanitize hands prior to practice
- No drinking fountains or water jugs available; participants are encouraged to bring own water
- Coaches will always wear masks if unable to maintain 6 ft social distancing
- Emphasis placed on social distancing drills
- Players must wear a mask if on the sidelines or unable to maintain 6ft distancing
- Exception: during drills or games when actively moving; if participant prefers to wear a mask they are welcome to at any time
- Group sizes are limited to 50 participants or fewer, groups of 50 will be spaced at least 30 ft apart
- Minimize sharing of high touch equipment; if equipment is shared coaches/staff will sanitize at the end of use
- No team/group meetings, no fist bumps, high fives, or handshakes
