Registration / Payments and Fee Structure
Students enrolled in Dance Arts Core Ballet Classes and Irish Dance classes are registered for the fall and spring semesters and do not need to re-enroll in the spring. Fees are based on a nine month program (September – May) and broken into even monthly payments. First month’s payment is due at time of registration. Monthly fees are non-refundable and not prorated for holidays, vacations, illnesses or snow days. Tuition is due by the 20th of the month in advance for the following month. Late payments will be assessed a $10 fee. Additional month’s payments may be paid for at any time. All other classes will be registered for by semester. To withdraw your child from the program, submit a two week written notice prior to the start of the next month to the Director of Dance. If you do not provide a two week notice, you will be responsible for payment of the following month. The monthly tuition fee is based on full attendance and no credit/proration is allowed for holidays, vacations, illnesses, or snow days.
The Dance Arts School performs annually. Performances are an exciting and rewarding opportunity for students to present the product of a year’s work and to experience the stage. Due to rehearsal schedules, only students enrolled in Fall classes Level 2 and up, will be cast in the Virginia Theatre performances, and also additional Outreach performances, with artistic director’s approval. An initial fee of $50 is built into monthly billing for Performance and Costume fees. There is a $20 fee per additional costume after the first one for students who are in more than one piece in the performance. Deadline for payment on additional costumes will be determined by the director. Outreach performances do not require costume fees.
Those who chose not to participate in the Performance must notify the Director of Dance in writing by October 15 for possible reimbursement.
Adults and children with prior training should contact the Director of Dance for a placement audition at the Springer Cultural Center (217-398-2376).
Note: There will be an informational meeting on Monday, August 24 at 5:30p.m. at Springer Cultural Center. Parents of ALL students must attend, with the exception of Creative Movement, Level 1, Adult, and Workshop classes.
Drop-In Class Rates
For Senior Company, Adult 2, and Adult 3 classes: The fee for a single 1 ½ hour technique class is $18/$27. The fee for a single 2 hour technique class is $20/$30.
