Beginning Education Curriculum


Creative Movement

Ages 3-5
Jumping in puddles and soaring like birds, the students will move through their imagination in a fun filled class that will strengthen their gross motor skills, coordination, and spatial awareness. Students may wear leotards with proper ballet shoes or comfortable clothing with bare feet. Hair should be pulled off the face into a ponytail.
NOTE: Creative Movement classes for 3 and 4 year-olds require parent attendance and participation in each class at no cost. Students may not attend unless a parent or family member is present with them in class. Creative Movement classes for 5 year-olds will not require parent attendance. Parents may observe during the last class of each month.

Children’s Beginning Ballet

Ages 7-10
This class is for students new to the art of dance and serves as a preparation for formal ballet. It is a structured class that will focus on solid dance technique and musicality. Students will be assessed at the end of the session to determine their class placement for the Fall session.

Teen’s Beginning Ballet

Ages 11-15
Students will work on strength, stamina, and flexibility while learning the basics and gracefulness of classical ballet. At the end of the session, students will be able to choose if they want to enroll in the Dance Arts Core Curriculum in the Fall.
