Juneteenth

Juneteenth, the oldest known celebration commemorating the abolition of slavery in the United States, is one event you don’t want to miss. Enjoy music and visit different vendors while learning about this important holiday. Children can make arts and crafts, play on the bounce house and obstacle course, or get soaked in the Splash Pad.

The Juneteenth celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 12-3pm, at Douglass Park 804 N. Fifth St, Champaign, IL 61820.  

We are excited to have partnered with over 25 local businesses, community leaders, and individuals such as:

  • Champaign County African American Heritage Trail
  • Carle Community Health
  • DSC
  • Champaign Housing Authority
  • Uniting Pride
  • NAACP
  • Remax Realty

Merchant vendors including but not limited to :

  • GNJ Boutique
  • Pivotal Passions
  • OurTech
  • Forever Healing Us

American Water will have the water truck for plenty of hydration and Burrito King will be in attendance with their food truck.

There will be live entertainment, bouncy houses, and face painting. Raffles, and more

Please come out and join us this Saturday, June 18th from 12-3p for the Annual Juneteenth Celebration!!
