Frozen 5K | January 14, 2023
Ages 13+ (unless directly supervised by guardian)
Shake off the winter blues and embrace this winter run! Don’t (snow)flake out your fitness routine, test your endurance in this Frozen 5K. Participants will receive race swag to display your frost fortitude.
Refunds will not be available to registrants beginning December 20, as race hats and mugs will be ordered. If refunds are requested before December 20, there will be a $5 fee. If the event is cancelled due to poor weather, refunds will not be offered, but race gear can be picked up at the designated Park District facility.

CANCELLED – Family Valentine’s Ball | February 10, 2023

Event is buffet-style dinner that will include both meat and vegetarian options (other dietary restrictions will not be able to be accommodated). Ball includes fun activities and goodie bag for all the kids. Photo packages will be available starting at $5 (cash and card accepted). Doors open at 5:30p. Guests must be seated promptly at 6p to enjoy dinner. All attendees must provide an email address at registration to receive a pre-event email from event staff. Each person attending must enroll to ensure we have an accurate head count.

Champaign County Town & Country Amateur Art Show | April 1-29, 2023
Youth: Ages 6-17; Adults: Ages 18+
Springer Cultural Center
Part of the fun of making art is displaying it. Budding artists and art enthusiasts are encouraged to enter their work in this local amateur show. There will be a videotaped critique by the juror that will be made available at the end of the show. The juror will discuss the art, point out good technique, and offer helpful suggestions to those artists wishing to refine their talent.
Town & Country shows are held throughout the state to encourage quality work by amateur artists. Blue ribbon winners from local shows are eligible to participate in the State Town and Country Amateur Art Show in the fall. The hunt is on! Celebrate spring and enjoy some family fun at Prairie Farm. Hunters should bring a basket to search high and low for colorful eggs. Be prepared to explore your senses while searching for special eggs with lights, sounds, and textures. After the hunt, treats and social time will be enjoyed by all.
GOALS: Enhance socialization with peers and increase independence and decision-making skills.

Tots, put your toy trucks away – it’s time to touch the real thing! Climb in, hop on, and honk the horns of some really big trucks and other vehicles during Touch-A-Truck Day! Tow trucks, fire trucks, police cars, and more will be available for kids to explore. Pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic too! Please note: in case of inclement weather, this event will be cancelled.
