In 2014, the Park District’s administrative functions, including program registration, membership sales, scholarship applications, and other services moved to the new Leonhard Recreation Center.
Bresnan is home to many staff offices and houses a public meeting space that is available for rent. It also hosts the Champaign Park District’s Board of Commissioners’ meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. and the Board’s study sessions on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30 pm. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Please visit our Board Information page for details.
Rental Information:
The Bresnan Meeting Center has space available to rent for meetings and administrative purposes. Please call 217-398-2591 for prices and more information.
History:
- Dedicated May 2, 1968.
- Total construction cost of $177,656.
- Originally called “The Meeting Center.”
- May 9, 1984: Renamed the Bresnan Meeting Center in honor of Park Commissioner Donald F. Bresnan (term of service 1963-1999)
- Grants: In 2009 the Park District was awarded a $11.055 Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) grant to improve energy efficiency at Bresnan and the adjacent Operations Department building.
