Oh Baby! Preparing for Birth classes Wednesdays 6-7:30p & The Baby Bunch Wednesdays 8:30-10:00am

Interact with other expecting or new moms and share your joys, concerns, and struggles this new change in life presents at our Preparing For Birth and The Baby Bunch classes! Our prenatal educator and birth doula will guide you and provide topics of discussion. Feel comfortable in this supportive atmosphere and discover new friendships.


In our next Youth Theatre adventure, take a fantastic musical adventure with an out-of-this-world car that flies through the air and sails the seas-Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr.! Register by January 3 to be a part of this magical production.

Your child will fall in love with science this winter with hands-on, winter-themed science experiments at Cool Experience/Ment on January 22!

Do your kiddos…or yourself…want to be more creative in 2020? Our Cultural Arts program has new ceramics, performing arts, dance, and visual art classes starting in January!

Ties & Tennies: Helping Kids. January 9 5p-8p Virginia Theatre. $50 per person includes food & two drink tickets

Break out your favorite party outfit and your best tennies for a night of fun to benefit the Champaign Park District Jimmy John’s Youth Scholarship Program!  In addition to helping our community grow, every ticket purchased will be placed in a raffle to win 4 tickets to see ANY show at the Virginia Theatre in 2020 (must be present to win). Read more about how helping kids can be so much fun!

Moms, we’ve extended the deadline for 80s Prom Night with Mom until Thursday, January 2! So bust out your shoulder pads and Aqua Net for a rockin’ good time on January 10!

The 1950s are back, so grease that hair and grab your kids and saddle shoes, Happy Days are here again at Shake, Rattle, and Roll with Dad on February 7! Deadline to register is January 25. 

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to endure a 5K in the middle of a cold Illinois winter? Bundle up because we’ve got just the race for you-Frozen 5K on January 18! Read all about this challenging winter race and see if you’re tough enough for the Frozen 5K. Register by January 6 to secure your race swag.


Mundane lunch got you down? Bring your lunch and stop on by Springer Cultural Center on January 17th for this month’s free Bach’s Lunch concert-John McMahon! Learn more about Bach’s Lunch and how to order lunch through Michael’s Catering on the Bach’s Lunch page.

50 Plus!

Think your chili is best in town? Put it to the test at the 50 Plus! Chili Cook-Off on January 17! Cook up a pot of your delicious chili and let the judges decide. There will be plenty of chili to go around, so bring your appetite!

Refresh yourself on driving safety at Rules of the Road free drop-in class on January 8 at Hays Recreation Center. There is NO driving test given at this class and it will not affect your insurance rate.

Health is the new wealth and we want all our 50 Plus participants to be rich beyond their needs. 50 Plus! is where you can stay active and fit! Chair Exercises, Walk This Way walking group, Cardio Workouts, and more will help you reach those 2020 goals no matter what your age!
