Kids Programs

Excited about a program, but worried about your child’s ability to participate? Read about Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation inclusion services. We’re here to help make it possible for everyone to participate. 


We offer seven different kinds of summer camps.  From teen leadership camps to STEAM driven and Campers Explore, art-based curriculum to traditional and accessible summer camp experiences, we have something for everyone.


Bah bah black sheep, goats, cows, llama, and dear velveteen rabbits lend themselves to be perfect muses. Join Prairie Farm’s Story at the Farm all summer long.


Special Events

Sholem Aquatic Center is open! Rediscover Tiny Tots Splash Time, Water Aerobics, Movie Night at the Pool, Father’s Day Celebration, Swim lessons, Splish Splash Water Safety Bash, and so much more. Champaign’s favorite summer destination is ready for you.


We are ready to party during Town Center Apartments Block Party on June 20. Mark your calendar for a neighborhood gathering of DJ Fireproof, face painting, inflatables, and more.


Park concerts continue to be a great place to gather and relax. Discover bands at the Commissioners Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Hessel Park in June. Don’t miss anything in our summer-long schedule.


StreetFest kicks off its first summer concert! On June 8, see three bands light up the stage in Downtown Champaign. Enjoy local food and drink while jamming the summer night away. Thank you to our sponsor, Mattex Heating, Cooling and Plumbing!


Family Ag Nights let your family explore farm equipment and a free dinner alongside educational activities and games. On Tuesday, June 25 be the first in line at this FREE event!

Juneteenth commemorates the abolition of slavery, and we’re celebrating! Live music, unique vendors, and bounce houses accompany ways to learn about this important holiday on June 15.

Get Out & About at Daycation. We head to Aikman Wildlife Adventures on June 19, so prepare to go wild! 


Cooking is an adventure, and we’re always looking to celebrate life’s tasty moments. On June 26, we’ll learn from Harvest Market’s dietician how to cook simple, nutritious meals. Add a sweet ending at Jarling’s Custard Cup. 


The ice cream social is a sweet treat for these hot summer days. On June 14 come to Hays Recreation Center, and bring a friend for a cherry-topped afternoon.


Meet us at Fore Dun Golf Range on Tuesdays throughout June to hit the green and exercise that driver! It’s a guaranteed bucket of laughs!


Looking for an outdoor workout? Douglass Park Fitness Trail mixes fresh air with a self-paced exercise routine. 


All ages can Learn to Fish at FREE fishing clinics run by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.  These 2-hour clinics are Tuesday and Thursday throughout June and July.


Tennis and summer are like ice cream and sprinkles. Outdoor Workouts & Summer Slams make Lindsay Tennis Complex your home-away-from-home for all your tennis needs! You can even join our Junior or Adult Tournament.
