Kids Programs

Don’t let cool weather slow you down! Get the wiggles out indoors at Leonhard Recreation Center’s 3-story indoor playground!

Douglass First String Basketball is right around the corner! Girls and boys of all skill levels are encouraged to learn teamwork, sportsmanship, but most of all – FUN! Get registered by Friday, December 6 to join in the fun.


We’re opening up the gates of Orpheum Children’s Science Museum for Disney’s Frozen Coronation Ball!  Enjoy an indoor snowball fight, Frozen sing-along & dancing with the cast of Frozen Jr, Disney Frozen treasure bags, and the crowning of Queen Elsa of Arendelle. Besides the warm and fuzzy feelings you’ll get from helping our Youth Theatre  program’s pursuit to purchase new microphones, all registrants will receive as many discounted tickets to Disney’s Frozen Jr as they want! 


Teach young women to use their voice and tell their story! Fifteen teenage girls will be chosen for a 3-day intensive workshop. Develop, write, and perform your own personal story on stage surrounded by friends, family, and fellow teens at That’s What Teens Say.

Springer Cultural Center will be rockin’ the Pop Oldies from the ’30s-’60s at our next Bach’s Lunch with live music from Dan-Ryan Express on Friday, November 1.

Want to get prepared for the next epic tale of Disney’s Frozen saga? Our Youth Theatre program will help you relive the magic during 5 performances of Disney’s Frozen Jr – November 21-24! Don’t conceal your excitement – get your tickets today!


After this, we’re getting cupcakes at Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation Cupcake 5K and 100m dash!  All proceeds benefit the CUSR Scholarship Fund. Watch the fun video below to get excited for this November 3 event.

We will have some great competition at the USTA sanctioned Junior Fall Slam Tournament November 16-17 at Dodds Tenns Center! All participants are guaranteed at least 2 games. Click below for registration information.

It’s a festive time of year filled with good cheer! As we ring in the holiday season, enjoy good food, friends, and the trimming of the holiday tree together. Each person is asked to bring an ornament, purchased or handmade, to add to the tree at Holiday Breakfast Snack and Tree Trimming on November 25 at Douglass Annex!

November’s Daycation will take us to lunch at Pauly’s BBQ, followed by shopping at Beachy’s Bulk Food in Arthur, IL. Cost of meal not included.

Join members of the Champaign-Urbana Astronomical Society, INC. on Saturday, November 2 for an evening under the stars at C.U.A.S. Family Skywatch! See the stars and planets through the largest public telescope in East Central Illinois. All skywatch sessions are cancelled in the event of cloudy weather (visit cuas.org for cancellations). This program is FREE and fun for the whole family!
