Bridgewater Park is a pocket park in northeast Champaign. Pocket parks provide small-scale, open spaces that serve the surrounding community and are typically less than an acre in size.
Bridgewater Park was named after Erma Bridgewater, a civil rights leader in Champaign-Urbana. Born in 1913, Bridgewater spent her entire life advocating for change and serving the community in many roles before passing away in 2013.
