School’s Out

The Champaign Park District is your child’s destination for positive, educational, and productive programs when school is out. Fee includes supplies, equipment, morning snack, and field trips. Children should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, and afternoon snack. No peanuts, please.

    • Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation offers inclusion services for Champaign Park District programs. Upon an initial assessment, services that are deemed appropriate based on each individual will be provided. If needed, a one-on-one aide will work with your child. When registering, please fill in ADA information with INCLUSION REQUEST on the registration form. For more questions, email grace.tissier@champaignparks.org, CUSR Manager & Inclusion Coordinator.

MAD SCIENTISTS

K-5th graders
Ignite your creativity and curiosity. Come along with staff at Leonhard as we explore science by using all of our senses. Your child will leave inspired and hungry for more.

Each child should bring a nut-free fully disposable lunch; no reusable dishware, except for refillable water bottles, will be allowed in the facility. Each child should bring a morning snack; afternoon snack will be provided. COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced and followed.

PAINT A LEARN

K-5th graders
Explore your creative side as you paint your own masterpiece. We will learn about the history of art, famous artists, and become artists. Painting fosters creative growth, promotes optimistic attitudes, and builds problem-solving and motor skills. Each child should bring a snack and lunch in a disposable container. Please no peanuts/nut products. COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced and followed.

SPRING INTO ACTION

K-5th graders
Wondering what to do with your kids while they’re out of school? Register for Douglass Community Center’s Spring into Action program! We’ll do themed activities, play fun games, and make fun crafts! Each child should bring a snack and lunch in a disposable container. Please no peanuts/nut products. COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced and followed.

Looking for a spring break alternative? We’ve got you covered with a spring exploration! Put a little spring in your step! CHAMPAIGN-URBANA SPECIAL RECREATION: SPRING BREAK

Ages 5-22
Are you looking for something fun and exciting to do over Spring Break? If so, CUSR Spring Break is the perfect program for you! We will be filling our days with crafts, cooking, field trips, group games, and so much more! Please bring a sack lunch each day. Please note, CUSR is a nut-free program. COVID-19 guidelines will be enforced and followed.

GOALS: Improve verbal and social skills, build new friendships, gain self-confidence and independence, and expand knowledge of leisure activities.

PROJECT GROW

K-5th graders
With spring just around the corner, your children will enjoy getting dirty as they explore the world of gardening. We will learn about plants and care, plant seedlings to start indoors, and enjoy some spring crafts to take home.
